Hey there, bread buddies!

My name's Joanna and I’m a wife, mother, artist, and baker based in Olympia, Washington. I’m also the Operations Manager for the West Central Park Neighborhood Center and its subsidiaries. When I’m not in the office or the kitchen, I’m usually with my family, adventuring and doing photography around the PNW, or curled up by the fire with a good book. I’m not currently open for sale to the public, but you can always find my baked goods at The Marie B&B. Looking to learn more about sourdough and how you can use it in your kitchen beyond just bread baking? Check out my blog!

Frequently Asked Questions

Where can I purchase your baked goods?

Unfortunately, my food is not for sale to the public at this time. However, my bread and other pastries are always available at The Marie Bed & Breakfast for in house guests and to the public during open house events.

Is your starter really from the Klondike Goldrush?

It sure is! I came across this piece of history several years ago in a pizza shop in Kingston, WA. When I saw it on the menu for sale, I couldn't resist. It's been a staple in my kitchen ever since!

Do you plan to open a bakery in the future?

While things are still quite uncertain, it is my long term hope to open up my products for retail in the future. Most likely, through a cottage license and selling locally at the markets and direct to customers through online orders.
